What is BrokerTell?+

BrokerTell is a verified review and vetting platform for U.S. freight brokers. We combine carrier-written reviews, live FMCSA authority data, and real payment-speed reports to help carriers and shippers avoid bad actors.

Is BrokerTell free?+

Yes. Searching brokers, reading reviews, and writing verified reviews is free for carriers and shippers. We may charge brokers for verified profile features.

How do I check a broker's MC or DOT number?+

Use our search bar on the brokers page — type the MC number, USDOT, phone, or company name. We show live FMCSA authority, insurance status, and reviews in one view.

What does 'verified review' mean?+

A verified review is left by an authenticated carrier or shipper account that has confirmed working with that broker. Anonymous reviews are not allowed.

Can brokers respond to reviews?+

Yes. After verifying ownership of the profile with documents and email/phone confirmation, brokers can publicly respond to any review and dispute false claims through our team.

How do you calculate the payment-speed rating?+

Payment speed is the median number of days between BOL submission and payment received, calculated from real reports submitted by verified carriers.

What is the Risk Zone?+

The Risk Zone highlights brokers with recent non-payment reports, lapsed insurance, revoked authority, or chameleon-carrier alerts so you can avoid them before booking.

How do I claim my broker profile?+

Sign up, go to your broker page, click 'Claim profile', and submit verification documents (W-9, MC certificate, or company email). Approval is usually within 1–2 business days.

How do I report non-payment?+

On any broker's page click 'Report broker' and choose Non-payment. You can attach the rate confirmation, BOL, and any communication. Reports are reviewed before publishing.

Do you sell my data?+
